Handling inter-occasion variability in Bayesian forecasting
Inter-occasion variability (IOV) can substantially impact the accuracy and precision in Bayesian forecasting in the context of therapeutic drug monitoring. A number of approaches exist to handle IOV when utilising a model for Bayesian forecasting, which include ignoring IOV, weighting functions, or variations of accounting for IOV during Bayesian estimation. At this years PAGE meeting, held in Montreux, we presented a collaborative project between the University of Hamburg, Germany and the University of Queensland, Australia, on different approaches to handle inter-occasion variability.
